Entry #4 Simulated Life

Hello All!

Have you ever played one of the Sims games? If you have, did/do you enjoy it? Comment and let me know! Right now, I am emotionally attached to my Sims in Sims 4 (which, for the base game, just went free to download, for those who want to try it out), and I am currently in a battle against the urge to spend 40 bucks on a huge expansion pack, so now you know my answer to those questions.

If you don't know what Sims is, it is a series of simulated games in which one can live as characters, create homes, or both. Some of the games are only for building towns or cities, some focus more on creating characters and their relationships. In games like Sims 4, you are able to do both, and you can have many characters in several households. You can create relationships that are romantic, sexual, friendly, or familial. They can work and retire, go to school, hang out at public places such as parks and bars, and many more.

There are some drawbacks to playing these games, such as being on electronics too much, ignoring the outside world, or being upset that the real world is not as "perfect" as in the game, but there are also benefits to playing. People can have small breaks from reality, it lets people have control over something in their lives, and it makes tons of people happy.

Simulated life games have plenty of pros and cons, but if it makes you happy and you are having fun, we might as well play, right?

Signing off,
Zila

  1. Amazing game! I got it for free too! I've been playing Sims since Sims 2 and I hope the release of Sims 5 is good, it is in the works. I like to copycat my apartment and build it like an architect.
