Entry #6 Happy Haunted Halloween

 Happy Halloween Everyone!

I am a day early, but it is still exciting.

Do you celebrate Halloween? We do! It did not used to be about everything that is pushed out every year, but since what most people know it as is a costume and candy holiday, that's what we'll talk about!

What do you do for Halloween? Maybe go to a party or go trick or treating? Carve some pumpkins or bake some spooky goods? My family likes to decorate our house, inside and out, before anything. We carve pumpkins, dress up, and go trick or treating. In this entry, I'd like to talk about fun things to do around Halloween, and why they are so great!

Starting out small, there are scary movies to watch. There's a large variety to choose from, ranging from old classics such as Frankenstein to the newer ones like The Invisible Man. My personal favorite is the Scream franchise. It can be such scary fun!

Decoration the home is always a fun one, giving you quality time with friends/family. Some people will make cookies or brownies and decorate them for Halloween.

Some people find it too messy, but pumpkin carving (or painting) is a fun way to express you Halloween interests. You can make an old-fashioned jack-o-lantern or go all out for a detailed look of your favorite scary character! This is also an entertaining thing to do if you have small children because you can capture the looks of  joy or disgust as they pull the guts out with their hands. Sometimes, you want to hang out with your friends for a good time, so many people go to parties in their costumes.

Lots of people, no matter the age, like to get in costume, whether it's a full outfit or just some fun makeup. This one is great because the person can be totally themselves or dressed like an entirely different person/character and it's completely okay. Haunted houses and the likes are popular too. I have never been to any, but I want to sometime in the next few years.

A very big thing on this extremely lovable holiday, is to go trick-or-treating. Some households will only hand out candy to children, but there are plenty who will give grown adults candy too, as long as they dress up (which I totally support, have fun while you can!).

Which leads to perhaps one of the most enjoyable parts of Halloween, the candy. While eating too much candy can give you cavities or make you sick, collecting a bunch of it will be super fun and last a little while.

The most important part of this holiday nowadays is all the fun that comes of it. My favorite part is dressing up or watching scary movies. What's your favorite part?

Signing off,

Zila
